1. League Structure Overview
1.1 Divisions
Female Division (8 teams)
Phase 1 — Round Robin (7 matches each)
All eight teams play each other once.
→ Each team = 7 matches
Phase 2 — Knockouts (semis + final)
- Semifinalists (4): top 4 from Championship Group
- Semis: 1 vs 4, 2 vs 3 (seed using: Championship #1, #2, #3, #4).
- Final: winners of semis.
- 3rd place match - losers of semis.
- Teams that don’t reach semis stay at 7 matches (promise met).
- All others 9
Male Div 1,2,3,4 — 8 teams (round robin + semis + final)
Round robin:
- Matches per team: 7
- Total RR matches: 28 (8×7/2)
- Knockouts: +4 (2 semis + 1 final+1 3rd place)
- Total matches in division: 32
Workload per team:
- Non-semifinalists: 7
- Semifinalists (lose in semi): 9
- Finalists: 9
Mix Div 1 & 2 — 8 teams (round robin only + semis + final)
- Matches per team: 7
- Knockouts: +4 (2 semis + 1 final+1 3rd place)
- Total matches in division: 32
Workload per team:
- Non-semifinalists: 7
- Semifinalists (lose in semi): 9
- Finalists: 9
Promotions/Relegations
- No playoff games. Top team in each division goes up; bottom team goes down.
2. Competition Rules
2.1 Match Format & Scoring
- Best of 3 sets.
- Silver point at deuce.
- Standard tiebreak.
- Third set = super-tiebreak (to 10 points).
- If time runs out: switch to golden point; if still no time, team with more games wins.
Scoring:
- 2–0 win: 3 pts (winner), 0 pts (loser).
- 2–1 win: 2 pts (winner), 1 pt (loser).
- No-show/forfeit: 3 pts (winner), 0 pts (loser).
⚠️ Players must submit scores via the app after each match. If not submitted, the match won’t count. Organisers only step in for score conflicts.
2.2 Match Timing Rules
- 90-minute slots (strict).
- Arrive 15 minutes early.
- Lateness - players running late for matches will inflict penalties. If 5 minutes late, the opposition will begin the match 1-0 in games. For every further 5 minutes, another game will be added. Example, if someone is 18 minutes late, the opposition would begin 3-0 up.
- If we reach 4-0 and over 20 minutes late, a walkover will be awarded, 6-0 6-0 to the opposition.
- Host and league management will lead this decision making, and analyse time.
2.3 Introduction of Mixed - Rules
Mixed Category joins the league for the first time, with a proposed two divisions. Rules
- Mixed doubles is governed by standard padel rules. No additional restrictions on style of play apply.
- Any play deemed to be
- Dangerous play
- Unsportsmanlike conduct
- Abusive behaviour
- Could result in a warning from League referee or organising committee.
- This does not mean ‘one smash at the female player’ = a warning.
- In competition format, with cash prize available, style of play can not be determined.
- However, repeated targeting of the body while smashing, may be determined to be dangerous or unsporting, which could result in warnings or disqualification.
2.4 Match Scheduling, Rescheduling & Substitutes
- Scheduling
- All divisions will have a set day for their matches. Match times on that day will vary week to week.
- Wednesday evenings
- Mens Divisions 1
- Womens Division
- Sunday afternoons and evenings
- Mens Divisions 2, 3 & 4
- Mixed Divisions 1 & 2
Rescheduling:
- 2 requests per team at time of entry
- To accommodate requests, you could be asked to play on a different day from original schedule (but still Wednesday or Sunday), or twice on a Sunday (with reasonable breaks between matches)
- Once league is underway, reschedules will only be guaranteed in emergency situations.
- Health or family emergencies, with documented evidence will be accepted.
- Other reschedules can be requested, but can not be guaranteed.
- Consistency will be applied throughout by league management and league management will have final say on all decision.
- In the event of rain, and an unplayable outside court, the reschedule will be covered at the expense of Pad Thai Padel.
Substitutes:
- No substitutions permitted.
- Focus on the two reschedules.
- Once a match has begun, if an injury occurs and a player can not continue, no sub can be used. The match will be forfeited for the other team
- If a named player is injured long term and can not play in the remainder of the league season, the team can request a long-term replacement.
- The replacement must be of the same or lower level on the padel society app.
- The league management will make a final decision on this and inform all other teams
- Similarly, if an individuals situation dramatically changes, eg; forced to leave the country for good, a permanent sub can be requested.
- For finals day, teams must be the original players.
- If a team can not fulfil their team on finals day when they qualify, a sub may be chosen from the remaining 8 players from their league.
- The player must be of a lower level than the current player needing replaced, unless they are the lowest level player in the division. Then, we aim for the player closest in level.
- The league management have final say on all substitute situations.
2.5 Division Allocation for Teams
- Teams can request which Division they want to play, but based on entry numbers, this may not always be granted.
- League organisers will always work to ensure the most level playing field in each division, equalling the most competitive matches.
- Exceptions to this - the winning team from a division last year will always be given the chance to play in the division above the year after.
- Division 1, maybe not always be Division 1. If a series of significantly stronger players are to join the league, a new Division 1 may be ‘formed’, seeing previous years Division 1 players, drop to division 2 for example. In this scenario, prize moneys may be reviewed to ensure parity with the previous season. This will be determined based on the entries received.
- Aside from that, the League organisers will use the following guidelines to help decide which team plays in which division, should requests for a division be too high.
- These are, but are not limited to;
- Certified Level on The Padel Society - individually and combined score as a team
- Note - there are anomalies in the certified levels in the app. If the organising committee feel this is the case for a player, they will contact them privately to discuss before making a final decision.
- The final decision could see an adjustment of the certified level score - either up or down.
- Previous season performance
- Any other relevant documented performance data, such as Thai Padel Series, Bangkok Padel League, FIP or APPT results may be considered as relevant evidence.
2.6 Finals Day Rules
Semifinals:
- 1st vs 4th
- 2nd vs 3rd
- Final: Winners of semifinals.
- Finals Day will be a special event dedicated to top 4 teams of All Divisions.
- Mixed will play semi finals another day to lessen possible workload.
3. Club Rules & Player Perks
- Club Access: 1h ice bath/sauna.
- 1 free drink per match day - drink is choice of club from special menu.
- Weekly sponsor perks.
- Strict 90-min court time, no extra.
- Respect all players; aggression = disqualification.
4. League Communication
- Updates via The Padel Society App (Competitions & Community).
- All announcements posted in the Community.

- Competition-related: Community chat.
5. Using The Padel Society App
- Check matches on homepage.
- Submit scores (winner/sets).
- View standings/schedules in Competitions.
- Must join community for updates.
6. FAQ
- Can I sub? No subs for one match. Only a permanent sub for remainder of league is allowed due to long-term injury, or emergency situations (eg someone being forced to leave country for considerable time).
- Timeout? Watch the clock; golden point if short. After 90 min → team with more sets/games wins.
- Perks? Free drink post-match, ice bath & sauna, pro-shop discounts, new balls/towels, sponsor perks.
